DESCRIPTION
Japan Travel is looking for a talented writer/content creator to support our Creative team (Media division). The role will involve helping to plan, research and create quality tourism content—including copywriting, articles, guides, and promotional materials—for various platforms and clients.
Start Date: Mid-April 2025~
Hours: Full-time, 5 days per week (40 hours)
Location: Tokyo (hybrid work supported)
Salary: ~¥250k/month (negotiable based on experience/qualifications)
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Produce articles and refine existing content for our media portal, JapanTravel.com.
As a photojournalist, attend visits, conduct interviews and take photos where needed — this will involve travel around Japan.
Assist with writing clear, persuasive marketing copy to help boost articles in search engines or marketing campaigns.
Support with research, production, and content management across a range of projects and websites.
Ad hoc support across the team, from video production (scripting, ideation, modelling) or design or marketing (copywriting), to appearing in video/photo shoots.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
2+ years of work experience with a demonstrable talent in writing (English).
Permission to work in Japan.
Ability to work independently as part of a multinational team —a self-starter attitude with a bias for action.
Basic understanding of the web — from CMS experience to a grasp of SEO, how HTML/links work and writing for accessibility.
Strong computer skills (Google, Trello etc.) and a creative mindset
[Essential] A strong interest in travel and sharing Japanese culture with the world!
[Advantageous] Written and spoken Japanese ability (N2–N3)
