DESCRIPTION
Japan Travel is a leading media publisher for tourism information on Japan doubled as an online travel agency, crafting hundreds of tailor-made experiences through Japan for all travelers around the world. Japan Travel represents a one-stop experience that provides all the information and tools to discover, plan and book a trip to Japan.
Japan Travel’s Travel Agency desk is seeking a junior travel consultant to speak with customers online, design, sell, and execute tailor-made experiences in Japan for our valued customers. You will provide the information and resources that help them plan their dream holiday in the Land of the Rising Sun!
Start Date: As soon as available
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week
Location: Tokyo (Chiyoda) with the possibility to work remotely
Salary: JPY 260,000 per month
Bonuses: Commission available on performance upon reaching KPIs
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Customer management and support with the goal to achieve revenue and bookings
Communicate with customers and support on inquiries and travel services to achieve high customer satisfaction
Plan, sell, book, and fulfill purchased tours to realize faultless and memorable experiences on fields for customers, with KPIs in mind
Work with the Travel Agency team in planning, business development, execution, and reporting
Research the Travel Agency's German-speaking market(s) and develop strategies and guidelines to improve the travel agency’s services
Manage and develop local partner relationships within Japan to improve the service and amount of offerings Japan Travel provides to customers
Work closely with and regularly report to the Travel Agency Manager to ensure that professional and personable service is provided to our travel customers
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Native or near-native German and English proficiency, both verbal and written (mandatory)
Currently based in Japan or planning to come to Japan in the near future
Experience in customer service
Previous experience in the travel/tourism industry is a plus
Strong interest in Japan, including knowledge of travel infrastructure around Japan (experience/location recommendations, JR Pass limitations, etc.) is preferred
Capacity to work on-site and remotely, with a reliable network connection capable of smoothly running meeting apps such as Zoom and work chat apps such as Slack
Ability to work both independently and within an international team
Japanese proficiency is not required but would be highly beneficial for the position
