Timeshare scam alert

Summary: if you’re called by someone claiming to be from Japan Travel regarding timeshares, it’s a scam. Do not send them any funds and contact your local law enforcement authorities immediately.

We have become aware of a phone scam. The perpetrators are cold calling timeshare owners/buyers, claiming to be from Japan Travel and saying they have a buyer for your timeshare. They may ask you to send money, claiming it’s needed for some aspect of the sale (e.g. closing costs, foreign taxes, transfer fees, etc.).

If you believe you’ve been contacted by these scammers, please alert your local law enforcement.
